Siblings Jonathan and Josh Baker to co-direct James Franco in Kin

Monday, September 05, 2016 3:40 AM | Anonymous

Aussie siblings Jonathan and Josh Baker are set to co-direct James Franco, Zoe Kravitz, Jack Reynor and Dennis Quaid in independent action-sci-fi Kin.

The feature is based on their acclaimed short film Bag Man, which premiered at South by Southwest last year, and earned the filmmakers a Grand Jury Award Nomination. The film also scored the Best Drama gong in the 2015 Short of the Week Awards.

Kin follows the story of an ex-convict (Reynor) and his brother when they are forced on the run by a vengeful criminal (Franco). Quaid is on board to play their father, and Kravitz will play the fugitives' trusted friend.

Texas-born filmmaker Daniel Casey wrote the script.

Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen at 21 Laps (Stranger Things) and Jeff Arkuss, David Gross, and Jesse Shapira at No Trace Camping (Room) will produce.

Filming begins on October 24.

Congrats Jonathan and Josh!
