Miranda Otto

AiF Ambassador Miranda Otto has joined an all-star cast of HBO's drama pilot Westworld.

Inspired by Michael Crichton's 1973 feature film of the same name, the pilot is billed as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.

The Lord of the Rings star is set to play Virgina Pittman, a brutally honest and ruthless woman who is head of the quality assurance department.

She joins a cast that includes Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton and Jeffrey Wright.

J.J. Abrams will executive produce alongside Jerry Weintraub and Bad Robot's Bryan Burk.

Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest), co-wrote the pilot and will both executive produce and direct.

Congrats, Miranda!
