Techniques and Tools

Presented by Lisa Robertson

A workshop in audition and role preparation that offers the actor a dynamic process, including exploratory exercises and emotional tools, for prepping a leading or major supporting role for film or television. In this workshop, Lisa will share her coaching process: techniques in script analysis, connecting specific emotional life, sculpting the psychological arc, and discovering unique and authentic behavior.

Lisa has coached significant breakout performances: most recently, Alexis Bledel (Emmy Award) for "The Handmaid's Tale;" Ashleigh Cummings for "The Goldfinch;" Logan Browning (series lead) in "Dear White People" and for her upcoming feature, "The Perfection," opposite Alison Williams; and, Leonardo Nam (Westworld). The workshop is also designed to address creative efficiency -- the "time-crunch" that actors face when landing auditions or booking roles. Lisa's workshops have also proved very helpful to producers and directors in more deeply understanding the actors point of view.

Lisa Robertson is a protégé of Larry Moss. Other Favorite credits include: MUNICH (Steven Spielberg); RENDITION, (Chopard Award for Breakout Performance at Cannes); Eddie Izzard's series lead THE RICHES (on-set coach, FX), VALKYRIE and OCEAN'S THIRTEEN (on-set); the Russell Crowe feature, TENDERNESS (on-set directed by John Polson); THE TWILIGHT SAGA; THE STONING OF SORAYA M; BOSS; THE O.C. As a filmmaker, Lisa received fellowships with the prestigious AFI Directing Workshop for Women, and the Film Independent (FIND) Directing and Screenwriting Labs. Her short film, COMMERCE, qualified for Academy Award consideration and is a Top 50 All-Time Bestselling Drama Short on iTunes. She also currently teaches in the FIND Labs.
