James Saunders is an Aboriginal man who was told at boarding school he was not clever enough to go to University. James overcame doubts about coming out and joined the Convicts Rugby team, winning three Bingham Cups with them.

Larissa Behrendt is an award-winning author with a passion for telling the stories of Indigenous Australia. She is a lawyer and Professor of Indigenous Research at the University of Technology, Sydney. She is also the Chair of the Bangarra Dance Theatre. Following her film 'Innocence Betrayed', a documentary about the murder of three Aboriginal children at Bowraville, New South Wales, Larissa was drawn to tell James Saunders' story as he has become an important role model in the Indigenous community.
