Founded in 2001, Australians in Film is a Los Angeles based non-profit film, television and digital content foundation that supports and promotes Australian screen talent and culture in the United States.
AiF hosts regular screenings and special events to celebrate the work of Australian content creators and talent. AiF’s career development and education programs include the prestigious Heath Ledger Scholarship, Mentor LA, Village Roadshow/Animal Logic Entertainment Internship, Greg Coote Fellowship, Gateway LA, The Writers Room and 50 Kaliber Director Internship.
AiF is based at Charlie’s creative workspace at the historic Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. Charlie’s is a bespoke hub for business, collaboration and networking for the Australian screen community in Los Angeles.
Many AiF members are active voting members of groups such as: Academy of Motion Picture, Arts & Sciences; Screen Actors Guild; Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Director’s Guild of America.
AiF’s board of directors includes prominent industry executives, producers and creatives and AiF’s board of advisors includes Academy Award ® winners and nominees and entertainment industry leaders. AiF’s industry steering committee includes active senior executives and creatives currently working in Hollywood.
AiF has the support of Screen Australia, Screen New South Wales, Screen Queensland, Film Victoria, AFTRS, as well as leading companies such as Ausfilm, Animal Logic, Village Roadshow Entertainment Group, Foxtel, Fox Studios Australia, Penfolds, Stacey Testro International, Raynor & Associates, Protea Group International, BIW and 50 Kaliber. AiF has more than 600 members, mixing actors and filmmakers with key American industry members.
