Australians in Film today announced that applications for the 2018 Village Roadshow & Animal Logic Entertainment Internship are open.
This highly-coveted opportunity to work in the Los Angeles offices of two of the world's leading independent production and financing companies is open to any Australian undergraduates or recent business graduates whose ambition is to pursue a career in feature film development or producing, and who demonstrates significant potential in that area. AiF strongly encourage applications from regional areas of Australia and Indigenous Australians to apply.
Previous recipients have gone on to secure work with an independent production company in Australia, a leading talent agency in Hollywood and a post-production house in London.
The three month internship, valued at US$20,000, will run from February, 2018, and will cover living and travel expenses.
The recipient will gain experience and access to the world of financing, developing and marketing big budget Hollywood films from executives at Village Roadshow Pictures (upcoming Ocean's 8 featuring an all-star lineup including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter) and Animal Logic Entertainment (upcoming Peter Rabbit starring Rose Byrne, and featuring the voices of James Corden, Margot Robbie and Daisy Ridley.)

The newly launched AiF International Membership allows Australian emerging and established creatives to join the AIF screen community, providing office space in Los Angeles at the historic Raleigh Studios (The Dark Tower, Whatever Happened To Baby Jane) and access to AiF industry and screening programs, while in LA.

Applications for the 2018 internship are now open and will close on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at 5PM PDT in Los Angeles.
The 3-month Internship is open to current film business undergraduate students and recent graduates, who demonstrate significant potential in their area of expertise. The program includes working at Village Roadshow Pictures’ office in Los Angeles, with a focus in garnering hands-on experience in developing, acquiring, packaging and producing feature films.
The Internship will also offer opportunities for various introductions and networking opportunities (outside of day-to-day work at Village Roadshow Pictures), including, but not limited to, networking and informational meetings with AiF Industry Members, Board members and Advisers. The chosen candidate will receive return economy airfare and a stipend from Australians in Film to cover accommodations and other living costs.
Applications are assessed by a combination of Australians in Film Committee Members (drawn from industry specialists) and senior staff from Village Roadshow Pictures and Animal Logic Entertainment.

The application fee for this year’s Internship is US$50. As part of the application fee you also receive an International Industry Membership of Australians in Film, which includes three screenings and two industry panels and access to an office space, when in Los Angeles. You are also eligible for free entry into any other career development or education AiF runs for 12 months, including Mentor LA, Gateway LA, Heath Ledger Scholarship. If you are already a current member of AiF, then it is free to enter.
Funding recipients must deliver a written report to the Australians in Film Board upon completion of the Internship.
